Recently unveiled with a major facelift in brand and fresh, expansive grounds in Ungasan, the Bali Paintball Arena welcomes those with a penchant for adrenaline rushes and fast-paced fun to try out this competitive sport. It’s a good way to spend an exciting day with a group of friends, and for families with teens who need to take their sibling rivalry to the field – in a positive way! The cliff-top arena is the only dedicated site in Bali where you can experience this sport, especially for the ‘woodsball’ or natural open environment aspect of this sport. It comprises three separate playing fields on over two hectares of hilly terrain with natural undergrowth and manmade wreckage hideouts, bunkers and various obstacles throughout.

The Bali Paintball Arena sits on scrubland within Bukit Ungasan, a rural region part of the island’s southern Bukit peninsula. Getting up here from the other main areas gives an ‘into the wilderness’ edge to your journey. It is a half-hour trip from Nusa Dua and an approximate hour’s drive from Kuta. The operators provide free hotel transfer services as part of their packages. Just after the welcoming drinks briefing and trial sessions are held with a weapons and gear tour. Bali Paintball Arena stocks all the latest imported equipment. These include semi-automatic guns that provide accuracy and reliability, and most of all are lightweight and easy to operate. Slip into the military-styled camouflage jumpsuits, don headscarves, pick one of the awesome-looking Anex masks and feel like Rambo. The equipment is both neat and high-tech. The masks incorporate a double-lens face protector system – the most advanced form of eye and face protection on the market. The jumpsuits are thick drill woven to protect you from the rigours of combat.
